Data deletion instructions
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. This page explains how and when we remove your information.
How to request deletion
Send an email to our contact address (see the Contact page) with the subject line Data deletion request and include:
- The email address or device identifier you used with SafeHabit (if you know it)
- A clear statement that you want your account and data deleted
- Any other details that help us locate your account (e.g. the email used to add a trusted supporter)
We will confirm receipt and process your request as described below.
What we delete
When we process a valid deletion request, we will:
- Delete or anonymize your account and device linkage
- Remove or anonymize stored events and alerts associated with your account
- Remove trusted supporter links and any shared data tied to your device
- Retain only what we are legally required to keep (e.g. certain transaction or compliance records) for the minimum period required by law
Timeline for removal
We aim to complete account and data deletion within 30 days of receiving a verified request. You will receive a confirmation when the process is complete. If we need more information to locate your account, we will reply to your email and may extend the timeline until we can verify your identity and account.
Uninstall vs. account deletion
Uninstalling the SafeHabit app from your device stops new data from being sent. It does not automatically delete data already stored on our servers. To request deletion of that data, use the process above.
